The station that was airing the Cowboys game in Dallas during the EF-3 tornado… is apologizing.

    VERBATIM:

    [nats]

KXAS-TV… the NBC-owned station in Dallas-Fort Worth… aired the Sunday Night Football game instead of going to live storm coverage while the tornado tore through suburban Dallas.

The game broadcasters made no mention of the weather outside AT&T Stadium in Arlington… even showing prerecorded outdoor shots of downtown Dallas that showed a clear sky.

KXAS put out a statement saying it was a mistake to not interrupt the football game to cover the storms.

It said it was providing live coverage online and broke in for six minutes.

The station said it will make sure this will not happen again.
